The Development Coordinator will be responsible for leading a comprehensive program to identify, cultivate, and solicit funds to support Green Community Connections (GCC) programs with a primary emphasis on the One Earth Film Festival. This leadership position is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to achieve annual fundraising goals and develop relationships with donors and prospects.

As a member of the Core leadership team, s/he will work closely with the Film Fest Director and GCC Board of Directors. S/he will also work with team leaders and fund-raising volunteers (including recruitment of 1-2 key fundraising volunteers) to increase support. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with at least 2 years of proven fund-raising experience working with multiple funding sources and success identifying, engaging, and directly soliciting funding prospects. S/he will also be a detail-oriented, assertive implementer, who is focused on building individual and organizational relationships. The successful candidate will take the lead on implementation of strategies to achieve fundraising goals with sponsors, foundations and fundraising events and campaigns.

Deliverables for this independent contract position include: 1) A fund-raising plan with target amounts and sources (e.g., sponsorships, grants, crowdfunding, individual donations, ticket sales, and fundraising events), timeline, roles, and responsibilities. 2) Direct implementation of fundraising plan, including the research and writing for appropriate grant opportunities. 3) Achieve fund-raising goals.

What we have in place that a fund-raising leader can build on: We have a 5-year track record of growth and expansion. The One Earth Film Festival has received significant financial support and recognition from its founding communities, and most recently from sources in the City of Chicago and major environmental organizations. We also have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and website presence (with online donation capability), and an e-newsletter that goes to more than 3400 subscribers.

Position Details: This project-based independent contract position offers an hourly rate of $25 for an anticipated average of 35 hours per week, starting in early September and extending through early April. This position has the potential of growing into a 910 month full-time position (maintaining Summers off). The person engaged for this position will not be subject to day-to-day supervision and will not have set hours. While the majority of the work required for this position will be done remotely, responsibilities include regular meetings with fund-raising team and/or Board Members, and travel to visit potential donors, grantors and sponsor organizations.
