Pamela Tate: The Climate Crisis and What You Can Do to Help Combat It

  • Oak Park Public Library 834 Lake Street Oak Park, IL, 60301 United States (map)

Pamela Tate, a Climate Action Leader trained and certified by Al Gore and his Climate Reality Project, will talk about the climate crisis and what each individual can do while we still have a chance to rescue the planet for our children and grandchildren.

Pam spent 31 years as president and CEO of a national educational non-profit based in Chicago, and left this full time job in 2018 in order to devote her life to helping combat global warming and the many consequences that come from it such as food and water scarcity, political instability, sea level rise and the extinction of species. She has been an active leader and public speaker throughout her career in education and is now turning her attention to the climate issue because of its urgency.

She will discuss the Climate Reality Project and the training itself, the data that Al Gore and his team of scientists have been gathering about the climate crisis, and what each individual can do to help reverse these disastrous trends. The Climate Reality Project asserts that we have only until 2030—barely more than 10 years—to reverse the worst effects of the warming of Earth’s atmosphere. This is why it is imperative that everyone learns about the extent of the crisis and what can be done NOW!
